During renovation, furniture and appliances restrict access to walls and floors and may be exposed to dust, paint or accidental impact. A private ROOM temporarily clears the home or office while keeping the belongings together.
What to remove before work begins
Start with the most vulnerable and bulky items. The less property left in the renovation area, the easier it is to organise the work and cleaning.
- Upholstered furniture and mattresses
- Wardrobes, chests of drawers, tables and chairs
- Televisions, computers and other electronics
- Refrigerators, washing machines and small appliances
- Books, textiles, kitchenware and decorations
- Furniture blocking access to walls, ceilings or floors
How to prepare furniture
Clean and dry furniture before packing. If its construction allows, disassemble large wardrobes, tables and beds. This reduces the area required and makes transport easier.
Keep fittings in labelled bags. Protect surfaces with cardboard, fabric, bubble wrap or stretch film. Do not apply adhesive tape directly to lacquered, painted or decorative finishes.
How to prepare appliances
Disconnect, clean and fully dry appliances. Defrost refrigerators and freezers in advance. Pack or secure shelves, cables and removable parts.
Use the original packaging when available. Otherwise, protect the body with cardboard or film. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance on the correct position for transport and storage.
How to arrange belongings in a ROOM
Keep heavy and stable objects near the walls and at the bottom. Store fragile belongings away from heavy boxes. Leave tools or appliances that may be needed during renovation closer to the entrance.
Preserve a walkway and label boxes on more than one side. Shelving and large plastic containers can organise smaller belongings and make better use of the ROOM height.
What to arrange in advance
Subject to advance confirmation, you can book delivery, loading, unloading, packing help and packing materials. Shelving and large plastic containers may also be rented. Availability of services and equipment depends on the selected facility.
Send the manager photos and measurements of the largest items for a more accurate size estimate. When you arrive, a member of our team will welcome you and show you to the ROOM, help you find your way around and organise the placement of your belongings.
